Natural Wellness: The Health Benefits of Daily CBD Use

With the popularity of CBD on the rise, there has been a significant amount of information written about the potential of using CBD (cannabidiol) to treat certain ailments and symptoms. However, not as many have looked at the benefits of daily supplementation of CBD. In this article, we uncover if taking CBD on a regular, daily basis can help improve your overall health and wellness.

Is there an advantage of daily supplementation of CBD?

There is growing scientific evidence showing that CBD does just that by providing balance within a key system of your body, called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This is a newly discovered system that first began coming into focus in the 1990’s. It is responsible for sending out signals that regulate a whole host of vital day-to-day functions throughout your body. It does this using naturally-occurring cannabinoids that bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors in your brain, nervous, and immune systems. These cannabinoids are called endocannabinoids because they are produced within your own body.

Cannabinoid receptors are some of the most abundant G-protein neuroreceptors in the human brain, and they are also prevalent throughout the body. The existence of these receptors and the cannabinoids that bind to them has been documented in biological life that first appeared on the planet 150 million years ago.1 This may indicate that the endocannabinoid system is a forerunner of the body’s other main systems.

There are two known types of endocannabinoids:

Here are some other compounds that are currently being researched as possible endocannabinoids:2

Your body was naturally designed to use these endocannabinoids to properly regulate its daily functions. Yet just like with vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients, you can sometimes become deficient in these naturally-occurring compounds. The name for this deficiency is Clinical Endocannabinoid Deficiency (CED).3 The causes for CED are preliminary, yet evidence has begun to indicate that there are several key contributors:4

Studies have actually proven that those suffering from certain ailments, show evidence of CED being present. Some other key indicators of the condition may include diagnosis of psychosomatic disorders, increases in anxiety, pain, and depression, and an inability by your doctor to provide an accurate cause for the symptoms being presented.

The Endocannabinoid System: What Happens When It’s Out of Balance

When your Endocannabinoid System is running smoothly, there is homeostasis. When it’s at 100 percent capacity, it acts as a sort of oversight committee that regulates processes throughout your entire body. Yet this wide-ranging set of responsibilities is exactly why, when your ECS is thrown out of balance, it can create a domino effect which disrupts the proper functioning of:

Endocannabinoids have also been shown to play an important role in protecting neurons, increasing motivation levels, regulating metabolism, increasing brain plasticity, and developing the central nervous system. This is why so many many conditions that occur in both the brain and the body may be linked to an ECS that isn’t functioning well.

The Balancing Benefits of CBD on the Endocannabinoid System

“There were never so many able, active minds at work on the problems of disease as now, and all their discoveries are tending toward the simple truth that you can’t improve on nature.” – Thomas Edison

CBD (cannabidiol) contains exo-cannabinoids that help you alleviate the effects of CED and bring your endocannabinoid system (ECS) back into balance. These exo-cannabinoids work by inhibiting the reuptake, breakdown, and deactivation of endocannabinoids. The mechanisms involved in this process increase the number of endocannabinoids in your brain’s synapses. This helps ensure that your entire system is running at optimal capacity.

Since the ECS’s many amazing functions are now coming to light with new scientific research, CBD’s work to support endocannabinoids and their receptors is highly beneficial in a number of ways. It’s important to note that research is ongoing to determine just what role the ECS plays in these and other health-related issues. The great news is that these promising finds have led to more in-depth studies and assessments to find out how CBD works to increase your physical and mental health on a daily basis.

Case Studies: Long-term Benefits of CBD on Overall Wellness

There’s an ongoing study out of Yale University that is documenting CBD’s long-term cognitive effects on healthy people.5 Begun in 2010 and running through 2019, the investigation is taking a look at how cannabidiol changes mental functioning, processes, and perceptions, including those in the executive-center of the brain. In addition, the July 2018 release of the New York State Marijuana Assessment has found enough wide-ranging health benefits of CBD to recommend regulated marijuana use for adults within that state.6

While our products only contain non-GMO, naturally sourced CBD derived from hemp (Cannabis sativa L. plant), making them already legal with no prescription needed, the implications of the New York assessment are that CBD’s benefits have become so scientifically viable that lawmakers are now considering legalizing additional varieties of the plant.

With so much information now coming out about CBD’s benefits for overall health and wellness, it’s a great time to begin making it a part of your daily health routine. If you have additional questions about getting started or about how CBD works, you can download our Ultimate CBD User Guide to learn more valuable information on using our high-quality hemp extracts for mind-body wellness.

The Potential Benefits of Vaping CBD to Reduce Nicotine Dependence and Withdrawal

During the past decade, vaping has gained popularity as a potentially less harmful nicotine delivery system than cigarettes. By switching to a heated coil and nicotine-based e liquids, smokers are still able to enjoy the physical sensation of smoking without the tar and thousands of chemicals inhaled when tobacco burns.

Although some may view vaping as a way to quit smoking, these electronic delivery systems are not marketed as a smoking cessation product; they are classified as an alternative nicotine source. There is no scientific evidence to verify that vaping nicotine e-liquids helps smokers quit. Fortunately, vaping CBD shows potential for helping smokers break their nicotine addiction and their dependence on cigarettes.

The Health Risks Associated with Nicotine Addiction

The problem with vaping nicotine e-liquids is that the former cigarette smoker is still feeding their nicotine addiction. In fact, many vapors find it necessary to vape liquids with a higher nicotine content than typically found in the average cigarette to satisfy their cravings.

Nicotine is said to be as addictive as heroin and detrimental to your health. Nicotine affects your heart rate, hormones, and digestive processes. Nicotine also:

The Symptoms of Nicotine Withdrawal

Knowing that nicotine is detrimental to good health often prompts smokers and vapers to break the cycle and conquer their nicotine addiction. Anyone who’s tried to quit knows how difficult the process can be, how hard it is to overcome the urge to smoke. The symptoms of nicotine withdrawal can last weeks or months, and most people give in to their cravings within their first week of trying to break their habit.  Some of the common symptoms of nicotine withdrawal include:

Even when withdrawal symptoms subside, many smokers still feel the urge to smoke. That’s because smoking is as much as a habit as a physical addiction.

The Potential Benefits of Vaping CBD in Place of Nicotine

When trying to break a nicotine habit, vaping CBD may prove more beneficial than vaping traditional nicotine vape products. CBD shows the potential to alleviate cigarette cravings and reduce nicotine withdrawal symptoms while providing other potential health and wellness benefits. The benefits of CBD are possible because of the way CBD is shown to interact with your endocannabinoid system.

Understanding Your Endocannabinoid System

You have a communication system of messengers and receptors that regulate nearly every vital function and process in your body. Its called your endocannabinoid system. This system is so vital to normal daily functions that many researchers believe endocannabinoid deficiencies are the cause of many health disturbances, causing symptoms when the endocannabinoid system is out of balance. Just some of the many functions of your endocannabinoid system include:

The Messengers of Your Endocannabinoid System

Cannabinoids are the messengers of your endocannabinoid system, the neurotransmitters that communicate with the receptors. Your body responds to two types. The first type are endocannabinoids, they (anandamide and 2-AG) are made as needed in your body. The second type of cannabinoid that interacts with this system are exogenous, from an outside source. Exogenous cannabinoids are found in CBD, the extract of the cannabis plants.

Ideally, your body would produce all the cannabinoids it needs to stay in balance, but the neurotransmitters produced in your body are made as needed and broken down quickly by enzymes. When your body is under stress, you may need more cannabinoids than your body can produce.

Supplementing the endocannabinoid system with the exogenous cannabinoids of nonpsychoactive hemp can potentially balance your endocannabinoid system. Restoring balance to the endocannabinoid system theoretically explains why CBD has the potential to provide so many health and wellness benefits, including the potential to alleviate nicotine withdrawal symptoms.

Alleviating Smoking Urges and  Withdrawal Symptoms with CBD

Drug addiction is a chronically relapsing disorder. Nicotine is a highly addictive drug. Studies show that CBD might have the potential to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. While most reported studies were conducted on animal subjects, several rely on the data collected from human participants.

How Vaping Mimics the Smoking Experience

If you are unfamiliar with vaping, that’s ok.  There are three basic parts to a vape pen. There is a battery to supply the power to the atomizer, a coil that heats when the atomizer is activated, and a cartridge that holds the e-liquid.  While smoking relies on igniting tobacco with a flame, vaping requires no combustion.

As the coil heats, the e-liquid is turned to vapor, an experience quite similar to smoking a cigarette. While most agree that vaping is a potentially healthier alternative to smoking,  those who vape nicotine are still addicted to nicotine. Vaping CBD could reduce your urge to smoke while alleviating the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. Plus, many former smokers find that vaping CBD still allows them to fulfill their “hand-to-mouth” habit established by smoking.

Differentiating Between CBD Vape Products

When searching for a CBD vape product, it is important to know your alternatives. You have several types of vaping products to choose from. Just some of your options include:

Many people new to vaping prefer the convenience of a disposable vape pen. A disposable unit allows you to experience all the potential benefits of a CBD vape right out of the box. You won’t ever need to wait for your batteries to charge or change the prefilled cartridge.

The Many Potential Benefits of Vaping CBD

Vaping CBD has the potential to satisfy your urge to smoke while providing many other potential health benefits and has the potential to provide faster relief than ingesting other types of CBD products.

It’s essential that you know these are not medical claims. CBD is not a drug or a treatment for any medical disorder. CBD is a dietary supplement that shows the potential to interact with your endocannabinoid system, potentially improving your overall health and wellness.

CBD Infused Gummies: A Delicious Candy Supplement with Potential Health Benefits

When investigating health and wellness options, it can be difficult to differentiate the facts from the fiction. You may have initially assumed CBD supplementation was simply another fad or unsubstantiated gimmick. Maybe you thought the reported benefits were simply too good to be true. Through your research, you may have been pleasantly surprised to learn that the reported benefits of CBD products are backed by science.

Once you decide to further your investigation by trying a CBD supplement, it is not uncommon to be a bit overwhelmed by your product choices. Yes, you have many options, and you may need more information before making a product selection.  While CBD tinctures and capsules are quite popular, CBD Gummies, with their fun fruity shapes, are a clear fan favorite. But you may want to proceed cautiously when making your product selection. CBD gummies are not all the same.

Understanding the Origins of Your CBD Product

CBD gummies are made with the extract of the cannabis plants. You have the option of CBD from two cannabis plant sources, marijuana and hemp. The CBD extracted from marijuana has high levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), responsible for the psychoactive properties of marijuana, the high. The CBD extracted from hemp contains only trace amounts of THC, 0.3 percent, not anywhere near enough to cause intoxication, even when consumed in high quantities.

You need to know that CBD is not a medication; it is not a treatment or cure for any health condition. CBD is a dietary supplement with a multitude of potential health benefits, without the long list of side effects carried by so many over-the-counter and prescription medications. The reason CBD is so potentially beneficial for your health and well being is due to its ability to interact with your endocannabinoid system.

The Impact of Your Endocannabinoid System on Your Health and Wellbeing

Your body relies on a system of receptors and neurotransmitters that allow your body and your brain to stay in continuous, harmonious communication. When this system, the endocannabinoid system is compromised, the communication system cannot function optimally.

Your endocannabinoid system regulates nearly every significant function in your body, impacting the way you think, the way you function, and the way you feel. Some of the vital functions of your endocannabinoid system include the regulation of:

Your Endocannabinoid Messengers

Now that you know the fundamental purpose of your endocannabinoid system, you may be intrigued by the way it functions. The messengers of the endocannabinoid system are called cannabinoids. Your body responds to two types of cannabinoids.  Endocannabinoids are the cannabinoids produced in your body. (anandamide and 2-AG),  The second type of cannabinoids is called exogenous cannabinoids. Exogenous cannabinoids are abundant in cannabis.

Endocannabinoids and exogenous cannabinoids are the messengers of your endocannabinoid system. While your endocannabinoids are made as needed and quickly broken down by enzymes, the exogenous cannabinoids in CBD have a stronger, longer lasting effect on your body.

Your Endocannabinoid Receptors

The study of your endocannabinoid system is relatively new. Your CB1 receptors were discovered in 1990, CB2 receptors a short time later. Your endocannabinoid messengers trigger the receptors located throughout your body and your brain to facilitate the necessary responses.  You have two endocannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2.

The Significance of Endocannabinoid System Balance

As your endocannabinoid receptors are engaged by messengers, multiple signal pathways are activated. Ideally, your body would produce all the endocannabinoids needed to keep the communication system operating smoothly, to keep all of your biological processes in balance. Unfortunately, that is not what typically happens. When your body is under stress or the effects of illness or an injury, your body may not be generating enough messengers. Communications break down, and your body fights for homeostasis, the balance necessary to maintain survival.

Your endocannabinoid system is so integrated into your survival that many of today’s researchers suspect that endocannabinoid deficiencies are at the root of many health conditions, such as Crohn’s disease, fibromyalgia, migraines and irritable bowel syndrome. The exogenous cannabinoids in CBD mimic the effects of your naturally occurring cannabinoids and potentially keep your endocannabinoid system, and all the functions regulated by this system, communicating efficiently.

The Simple Joys of CBD Gummies

CBD gummies are a fun and flavorful option for endocannabinoid supplementation, and among the most popular of the CBD edibles. CBD gummies are a tasty and convenient way to enjoy all of the potential health and wellness benefits of hemp oil. Some people say CBD gummies are popular because adults like the idea of eating a piece of candy that provides potential health benefits. Others say gummies simply bring out the kid in us. The popularity of CBD gummies could also be because:

CBD Gummies are Not All the Same

It’s important to let you know that CBD gummies are not all created equal. Unfortunately, there are too many unethical people willing to take advantage of those still learning about CBD products. Many are charging high prices for gummies that contain very little CBD.  If you purchase very low milligram (5-10 mg) CBD gummies, you may need to eat several at a time to achieve your desired results. This makes a low mg gummy quite costly for daily use. You will want to consider how many milligrams of CBD you are getting for the price you pay.

The CBD gummies offered by CBDistillery contain 30 mg of non-GMO certified CBD. All of our CBD extracts are batch tested and verified by a third party for quality, purity and CBD potency. Not all CBD manufacturers take these steps to verify the quality or potency of their products. You will find the batch testing verification within the photographs section of each of our products.

CBDistillery: This is Why We Use Hemp

Knowing that CBD is derived from cannabis is often a source of curiosity and confusion for those investigating the potential benefits. For many people, the word “cannabis” is automatically interpreted as marijuana.  It’s not unusual for people encountering the word “cannabis” to wonder about psychoactivity and product legality. People tend to forget that hemp is also a cannabis plant.

In most states, marijuana is a controlled substance or only available by prescription. While marijuana is legal in our state, the CBD offered by CBDistillery is hemp-derived. While CBD from hemp and marijuana are similar, we choose to offer CBD from hemp because of the differences.

The Extermination and Revival of Hemp Cultivation

Cannabis plants are considered the oldest domesticated crops in our history. Some cannabis plants were selectively bred for religious and medical purposes. As an herbal medication, cannabis was used for an extensive list of health issues. These were the marijuana plants. Other cannabis plants, hemp plants, were bred for food (hemp seeds), textiles, and rope. Same species, different purposes. Until the 1930s hemp was in high demand, and marijuana was legal. Then the tides turned.

Non-Psychoactive Hemp Oil Supports the Endocannabinoid System

Although cannabis may have fallen out of favor, researchers were still interested in the effects of cannabis on the brain. CBD was isolated from cannabis in the 1940s, and THC from CBD decades later. It was the investigation into the effects of CBD and THC that eventually led researchers to discover the endocannabinoid system.

Your endocannabinoid system is a network of messengers and receptors that regulate the way your body functions, the communication system between your body and brain. The messengers, called cannabinoids, bind with the receptors located throughout your body. The cannabinoids made in your body are endocannabinoids. Although your body makes endocannabinoids (2-AG and anandamide) as needed, they are quickly broken down by enzymes. Your endocannabinoid system is responsible for regulating:

The cannabinoids in cannabis are exogenous cannabinoids, meaning cannabinoids from an outside source. Exogenous cannabinoids are found in CBD, the extract of hemp and marijuana plants. The reason we offer CBD from non-GMO, naturally sourced hemp is because of it’s potential to assist in endocannabinoid system balance. Researchers today believe many health problems could be caused by endocannabinoid deficiencies.

Endocannabinoid Support without the Risk of Side Effects

CBDistillery uses CBD from hemp because the CBD extracted from marijuana contains high levels of THC (5-30 percent tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is the cannabinoid responsible for marijuana’s psychoactive effects. The CBD (cannabidiol) from hemp contains only trace amounts of THC (0.30 percent or less). These trace amounts are not enough to cause any intoxication, even if large amounts are ingested. CBD from hemp provides the same level of endocannabinoid system support without the high or the risk of marijuana’s potential side effects. Some of the side effects of marijuana include:

CBD From Hemp is Available Without a Prescription

Since CBD from hemp offers the same potential health benefits as CBD from marijuana, anyone who is interested can experience the potential benefits of cannabis, no prescription required.

You do not need a prescription because CBD is not a medication. It is not a cure or treatment for any known health disorder. CBD is a potentially beneficial dietary supplement. The potential health benefits reported for CBD are based on laboratory tests, animal studies, and the testimony of those who claim benefits from the use of CBD supplements.

Hemp CBD Provides Essential Vitamins and Minerals

In addition to supplementing your endocannabinoid system with exogenous cannabinoids, Full-spectrum CBD is a potent antioxidant, containing all plant terpenes and flavonoids of the original plant. When you select a full-spectrum CBD product, rather than a product made from an isolate, each of the compounds magnifies the effects of the other. This is known as the entourage effect. Some of the additional compounds in full-spectrum CBD include:

New CCELL Vape Upgrades From CBDistillery

Megan Smith, third Chief Technology Officer for the United States, put it best when she said:

“Innovation comes out of great human ingenuity and very personal passions.”1

Our passion for delivering the best CBD products is what drives our search for the newest innovations. We’re always on the lookout for advancements and improvements in technology that delivers the best CBD experience. We couldn’t be happier with what we’ve found.

Loyal CBDistillery customers quickly learn to expect the best from us and we wouldn’t want it any other way. We appreciate all of you and we’re determined to search out the newest, and best CBD products available. That’s and we’re certain you’re going to love this announcement.

First, let’s get down to basics. What is vaping, and why do so many prefer it? Vaping refers to the process by which an oil, in our case CBD oil, is heated, or vaporized, and then inhaled through a vape pen or vaporizer. Our customers enjoy CBD in vape form for various reasons. Many feel vaping provides the purest form of CBD, allowing for the best resulting effects.

We know that many of our customers prefer vape pens over other CBD products, but why? It’s important to understand that not all CBD products will affect your body in the same way. Edible and oral CBD products, for example, go through a phenomenon known as the “first-pass effect”.2

When a compound, such as CBD, enters your stomach it passes through the liver. During the process, the liver actually reduces the potency and amount of CBD via absorption or break down from liver enzymes. CBD is hydrophobic, so it doesn’t appreciate water. As a result, it doesn’t stay in the bloodstream long before fatty tissues absorb it. Why is this bad? It means that this form of administration is less “bioactive” meaning that less CBD is available to enter your circulation system.

Now, if you love CBD edibles, don’t feel entirely disheartened. You can achieve your desired effects through products like CBD oil and gummies. You may just need to eat several gummies, to ensure enough CBD is absorbed into your system, and it may take a little longer to feel the CBD working in your body.

So what does this all mean in terms of vapor products? In order to forgo the first-pass effect, CBD needs to be chemically transformed into a more water-friendly form. Through vaporization, CBD enters your body directly through the lungs, meaning it doesn’t have to pass through the liver or gut. The result is significantly more CBD remains available to enter those active sites in your body.

So what’s new at CBDistillery?

As a company, we are dedicated to continuously improving and evolving our products and technology. After several months of research, we’re saying goodbye to our disposable vape pens and cartridges, and have invested in a patented, luxury vape technology and a higher quality formulation vape cutting agent. These upgrades, at no additional cost to our customers, include:

What is TEC Temper Oil?

TEC is an all natural, organic, and food grade agent which is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the FDA, providing our customers with a safer vaping solution. The ABSTRAX TEC is formulated with a special blend of terpenes with antioxidants and anti-irritants which results in a smoother vaping experience.

Typically used as a carrying agent in foods and fragrances, TEC Temper is ideal because it has no taste or odor, even after vaporization. Consisting of a special blend of terpenes with anti-oxidant and anti-irritant properties, TEC Temper provides a smoother vaping experience. When compared to other terpenes, competitors seem to fall short. ABSTRAX TEC is organic, is thoroughly tested prior to distribution, is developed in an ISO certified facility and one hundred percent free of fillers. These were just some of the key qualities that impressed us, leading to the decision to make TEC available to our customers.

At this point, you might be afraid that the CBDistillery you know and love is undergoing a complete restructure and will never look the same again. No worries there, we’re happy to report that if it wasn’t broken, we didn’t fix it. We only changed what we felt fell short of the high expectations our customers have, and we have of ourselves.

So what didn’t end up on the cutting block?

We’ve always offered the highest-quality, Colorado grown, naturally sourced, non-GMO, hemp-delivered CBD that is third-party tested for quality and provides delicious, natural flavoring and botanical terpenes and that won’t change.

We were founded by a group of like-minded individuals, believing our customers would truly benefit from and have the right to, the highest-quality CBD products available. Through education and research, we strive to live up to that belief every day.

We want to provide our customers with the most stellar CBD vapor experience.

We hope you’re as excited as we are about the new lineup of products. Check back soon for more on this, or for similar topics.
