CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of over 113 active cannabinoid compounds produced in hemp plants. CBD binds with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and is praised for its health and wellness benefits. CBD is non-intoxicating and non-addictive.
THC, or Tetrahydrocannbinol, is the most well-known cannabinoid and is associated with psychoactive properties produced by hemp plants. Full Spectrum CBD products by CBDistillery® contain less than 0.3% THC.
The resinous substance extracted from the stalks, stems, and flowers of industrial hemp plants contains a significant amount of cannabidiol, a non-intoxicating cannabinoid commonly abbreviated as CBD. The plant's trichomes also produce a substantial number of other potentially beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, minerals, and proteins. The product, commonly known as CBD oil, is a blend of hemp extract and a carrier oil, known as a tincture.
CBD oil is primarily used for its many potential health and wellness benefits. Research suggests that the therapeutic potential of CBD oil is explained by the way plant-based cannabinoids interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), the largest regulatory system in your body. The Endocannabinoid system helps regulate sleep cycles, moods and emotions, immune system function, pain perception, and more.
If you are new to CBD products, CBD oil is a great way to get started. A dropper is built into the lid, which makes it easy to use your tincture orally or add your CBD oil to foods and beverages. Our CBD oil is made with a blend of non-GMO domestic hemp extract and fractionated coconut oil.
Many people are initially hesitant about trying CBD oil when they learn that hemp is a cannabis plant. Some worry that the effects of hemp might be too similar to the effects of marijuana. That's why it's essential to know that hemp plants do not synthesize enough THC to cause intoxication.
While many people are satisfied knowing that full-spectrum CBD oil contains 0.3 percent THC or less, others still prefer avoiding the cannabinoid THC entirely. This is why CBDistillery® makes it a priority to educate users about the different types of hemp-derived CBD oil. These include:
Full-Spectrum CBD Oil
Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil
CBD Oil Made from Isolate

CBD oil is one of the easiest ways to add CBD to your daily routine. A recent CBDistillery® customer survey revealed that 79 percent of CBD users prefer CBD oil to any other type of CBD product.
Although CBD is not a medication or approved as a treatment for any known health condition, CBD users from across the country tell us that our CBD oil has made a considerable impact in their lives and promoted a significant change in the way they feel.
Based on a CBDistillery® customer survey with 1,100 respondents, the most commonly reported benefits felt by daily users after 7-14 days include:
CBD oil is exceptionally versatile. You can mix your CBD tincture into your morning coffee, add CBD to your favorite shakes or smoothies, and even use your tincture to add CBD to your favorite recipes. However, we recommend taking the tincture under your tongue.
Use the dropper attached to the cap to measure your dosage. Then hold the CBD tincture under your tongue for 15-20 seconds before swallowing.
Deciding how much CBD oil you should take depends on a considerable number of factors, including the CBD concentration of the product you select. A serving size that works well for you could be significantly more or considerably less than the serving size that's ideal for someone else.
Although you could follow the instructions printed on your product label, we recommend that first-time CBD users start with a small amount of CBD, even just a few milligrams, to determine how their body responds. If you don't notice the effect you were hoping for within a few hours, slowly increase the amount of CBD you are taking. How quickly you proceed is up to you. Some people add a few drops of CBD each time until they achieve the results they are looking for; others prefer giving their body a week or so to respond before increasing their serving size.
You will want to continue experimenting with how much to take until you find the smallest amount of CBD that gives you the results you need. Taking more CBD than your body needs will not cause any harm, but using more CBD oil than necessary could significantly increase your cost of daily use. Average daily use appears to fall between 30-60mg per day.
Your CBD experience is largely determined by the purity and potency of the products you select. Far too often, people place their trust in companies selling low-quality, potentially contaminated products that contain far less CBD than specified on product labels. That's why it's essential to protect yourself from a disappointing experience by purchasing your CBD oil from a reputable source.
CBDistillery®, a leader in the CBD industry, is a vertically integrated company. That means we oversee every aspect of production from initial soil testing to packaging and distribution. When you select CBDistillery® hemp-derived products, your CBD oil is sourced from non-GMO industrial hemp grown using natural farming methods. We use only food-safe extraction methods, and our products are verified by an independent third-party testing facility for purity and potency.
These are important factors to consider. You can verify the potency, purity, and safety of all CBDistillery® products by viewing the third-party test resultson our website, or scanning the QR code on your product label.
Before our naturally cultivated, non-GMO industrial hemp can be utilized to create your CBD tincture, the cannabinoid-rich oil must be extracted from the plant. The extraction process selected depends on how the extract will be used.
The CBD oil in our full-spectrum tinctures is CO2 extracted. At standard temperature, carbon dioxide is a gas. When pressurized, the CO2 liquefies and pulls the desired components from the hemp as the plant matter is filtered through a series of pressurized chambers. As the pressure is released, the CO2 converts back to its gaseous state and released from the oil. Finally, the extract is distilled.
The CBD used for our 0% THC tinctures is extracted with ethanol. After the initial extraction process, the oil is heated to activate the cannabinoids (decarboxylation). A third process (winterization) then removes the unwanted fatty acids, cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant components. After processing, all that remains of the original hemp extract is a crystalline CBD powder.
Full-spectrum hemp extract (or CBD isolate powder) is blended with fractionated coconut oil (MCT oil), to create our CBD tinctures. Coconut oil, the carrier oil, is selected for its contribution to the bioavailability and overall quality of CBDistillery® products.
CBD works by interacting with the receptors of the largest regulatory system in your body, your endocannabinoid system (ECS). This essential communication system is a complex network of messengers and receptors responsible with helping to regulate nearly every crucial function in your body. These functions include the processes responsible for immune system function, pain perception, inflammation, emotional responses, memory, and more.
The communication between the messengers and receptors of your ECS keeps essential functions balanced and working as they should. If the effects of illness, injury, or stress create a demand for ECS messengers that exceeds the supply, communication stalls, and essential balance is lost.
That's where CBD comes into the picture. CBD (cannabidiol) is just one of more than 113 potentially beneficial cannabinoids found naturally in industrial hemp. Cannabidiol mimics the effects of the endocannabinoids made in your body (endocannabinoids) and relays urgent messages to your ECS receptors. Supporting ECS function with CBD could help restore essential balance to crucial functions throughout your body.

CBD is the most abundant of more than 100 cannabinoids in hemp. Once our non-GMO hemp crops are harvested, the cannabinoid-rich oil is used to make an impressive assortment of CBD tinctures, topicals, gummies, drink mixes, and more. Although the terms CBD oil and hemp oil are often used interchangeably by product manufacturers and CBD users, it's important to keep in mind that there are two distinctly different types of hemp oil. Only one contains CBD.
The oil used to make legitimate hemp-derived CBD products is extracted from the stalks, stems, and flowers of the plant. Once mature crops are harvested, a food-safe extraction method liberates the oil from the unwanted plant material. The other type of hemp oil is cold-pressed from the seeds.
Although hemp seeds are highly nutritious, an excellent source of protein, essential fatty acids, and other beneficial compounds, hemp seed oil contains no CBD, none. With so many companies attempting to blur the distinctions between hemp oil and inexpensive hemp seed oil, it's important to identify the source of the hemp oil in any product that catches your eye before committing to a purchase.
When you reach for an over-the-counter pain reliever or allergy treatment, you'll see detailed instructions printed on the label, typically based on age or weight. With experience, you'll know how much time will pass before you start feeling better and how long you'll need to wait before you might need to take another tablet. But CBD is not a medication. Although you're sure to find many reports of CBD users claiming remarkable results within hours of their first serving, you may need to be patient.
There are too many factors influencing the possible impact of CBD to predict how the cannabinoid might affect you or anyone else using the same hemp-derived CBD product. Everyone is different, unique. The only way to know how long it might take to experience any potential benefit from any CBD product is to try it. Although most of the nearly 2000 CBD users responding to our internal survey report experiencing their best results within 7-14 days of consistent use, some CBD users find it can take a bit longer.
The answer to this commonly asked question can get a little complicated. Some CBD users ask how long CBD oil tinctures last because they want an estimate of how many servings they'll get from a bottle. Others ask the same question when they want to know how long the effects of their tincture might last between servings. Although there's no simple answer for either interpretation of the question, we'll do our best to provide at least some of the clarity you're looking for.
Let's start by considering how long a bottle of tincture might last between purchases. As you browse our selection of high-quality products and contemplate the potential therapeutic benefits, you'll see that our CBD oil tinctures are delivered in 30ml bottles. Since a standard serving size suggestion is 1ml, you can expect to get 30 servings from the bottle. But there's a catch.
You could easily get more servings per bottle, or possibly fewer, because a serving size that works for someone else could be quite different than the amount that works best for you. If your ideal serving size is ½ a dropper, you'll get twice as many servings from your bottle. If you find your ideal serving size exceeds the suggestions printed on the label, consider stepping up to a maximum strength tincture.
Although individual results vary considerably from one CBD user to the next, current research suggests that most people can expect the effects of using a CBD oil tincture to last up to 6 hours. In case you're wondering, most CBD oil tinctures have a shelf life of 1-2 years.
Yes, you can use your CBD oil to add CBD to almost any recipe, whether you're cooking, baking, molding chocolates, or making your own body balm with natural ingredients. You can also add a serving to your morning latte or apply your CBD tincture topically. Since our CBD oil tinctures are made with MCT oil, you're not limited to recipes that contain milk, butter, or other sources of dietary fat to help your body absorb the cannabinoids. However, you'll want to avoid temperature extremes. Cannabinoids and terpenes can degrade in temperatures exceeding 320° F.
Although you can use any CBDistillery® tincture to make your own edibles, many people prefer the effects of using their oil straight from the bottle. When you use your tincture for cooking and baking, it can take up to two hours (or more) for the cannabinoids to clear your digestive system and begin circulating in your bloodstream. Holding a serving of your CBD tincture beneath your tongue for 15-20 seconds before swallowing allows the cannabinoids to absorb into your bloodstream much faster. Although individual results can vary, most CBD users find relief in as little as 20 minutes.
It's legal to ship CBD products testing at or below 0.3% THC in all 50 states as long as the business complies with all applicable laws and transports its products through an approved carrier. However, anyone interested in purchasing CBD is strongly encouraged to confirm the legality of using hemp-derived products in their area before committing to a purchase. While you'll find plenty of sources claiming hemp-derived CBD products are legal everywhere, they're not.
When the federal government lifted the restrictions on hemp cultivation and took hemp off its list of schedule-1 drugs, a list that includes heroin, LSD, and marijuana, decisions requiring legality were left to the states. Most allow unrestricted use of hemp-derived CBD products. But some states still ban products made with any form of cannabis, including products sourced from hemp.
Although most people live in states where hemp-derived products are legal, it's still important to check third-party lab reports before purchasing any CBD product. According to current government guidelines, marijuana and hemp are defined by their THC content. Cannabis products with THC levels exceeding 0.3% are classified as marijuana, regardless of the source of the plant extracts.
