Q. We heard from several people regarding CBD and liver function. Does CBD use have any ill effects on the vital organs?

A. Most studies suggest that CBD is generally well-tolerated and safe. However, there are some reports suggesting that high doses of CBD may impact liver function. Further research is needed, and patients with liver disease should consult their doctor before starting any CBD regimen. CBDistillery® participated in a study in 2023 whose results showed low risk for liver toxicity

More of an issue would be the potential for drug interactions. As always, it's important to consult your primary care physician for personalized guidance on using CBD for specific medical conditions. 

Q. Can I use multiple form factors of CBD, such as gummies and a topical, together? 

A. Using multiple forms of CBD together may be helpful. Different forms offer different benefits and absorption methods. It can increase effectiveness, improve absorption, and provide versatility. Start with low doses and consult your doctor before use.

Q. I love all of the products I have tried but they all give me a very dry mouth. Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid this side effect?

A. There are some suggestions on how to mitigate dry mouth in someone who is using CBD. 

  • Drink plenty of fluids. 
  • Suck on ice chips or hard candy. 
  • Chew gum. 
  • Avoid tobacco products. 
  • Avoid sugary drinks. 
  • Avoid alcohol. 
  • Avoid caffeine.
